GIVING BACK THIS CHRISTMAS BY SUPPORTING THE REMOTE OPSHOP PROJECT

In the spirit of giving this Christmas, REDARC is giving back to the community with a $10,000 donation to the Remote OpShop Project.

The Remote OpShop Project is Australia’s largest network of community led OpShops supporting remote First Nations communities.

What began nine years ago in a small Northern Territory town has grown into a national movement, with more than 40 locally run op shops operating across some of the most isolated parts of the country.

The Remote OpShop Project provide affordable essentials such as clothing and household goods, while also creating jobs, building skills, and funding locally led initiatives including youth programs, participation in sports and cultural initiatives, and community trips on Country.

Earlier this year, REDARC supported the Project by powering their first dedicated Mobile OpShop vehicle, enabling the team to operate independently in remote locations. This Christmas, REDARC is extending that support further, with a $10,000 dollar donation and have committed to supporting a second truck with a full REDARC power system, expanding the project’s reach across Australia.

The additional vehicle will allow the Remote OpShop Project to service more communities, collect and redistribute donated goods more efficiently, and reduce reliance on personal vehicles when travelling long distances between remote locations.

Quentin Merckle, Logistics Manager for the Remote OpShop Project, highlighted the importance of the partnership: “This partnership with REDARC has been really important to us. Because I spend so much time on the road, I need to be fully self-sufficient. When we head into the most remote parts of the country, it’s the power of REDARC that gives us peace of mind.”

For REDARC, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to practical support and long-term impact. REDARC’s success extends beyond creating innovative products, it's about leaving a meaningful and lasting positive impact on our community and the environment we share. That's why we are proud to be an active member of our local and broader community through our relationships with various community and charitable organisations.
