REDARC to Power Canning Stock Route Expedition

REDARC is proud to partner with the Managing Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC), Dr Jens Goennemann, as he takes on the Canning Stock Route this July.

First opened in 1910, the 1,850-kilometre overland trail stretches from Wiluna in the mid-west region of Western Australia to Halls Creek in the remote Kimberley. Tackling such a monumental drive – regarded as one of the more challenging in the 4WD-world – commands the right vehicle, the right gear and significant preparation.

Partnering with REDARC, Jens has kitted out his Toyota Land Cruiser 76 Series with the latest integrated solutions from the globally revered company including:

  • Alpha 150 battery
  • 1200W Pure Sine Wave Inverter
  • TVMS Rogue and RedVision Control System
  • Tank Level Sensor
  • Tow-Pro Elite
  • The new Manager Alpha50.

The self-confessed coffee snob also leveraged his vehicle’s REDARC backbone by installing some home comforts including an espresso machine, oven and Starlink to stay connected. This neatly integrated REDARC setup will also power a fridge and freezer for the 26-day trek, while an integrated water system allows for running water on demand.

As a German native, but living in Australia for over 16 years, Jens has always had a desire to see as much of his adoptive home as possible – from all perspectives.

“When I first moved to Australia, I was fortunate to see many of the country’s cities when travelling for work. My skydiving hobby gave me a unique perspective of this wide landscape and later, paddling along the coastline you realise just how beautiful Australia is – but the vast interior had escaped my grasp. So, when I learned about the Canning, I was all in,” said Jens.

“I’ve been blessed to meet so many Australian manufacturers while at AMGC and the Canning trip gives me a chance to highlight the outstanding, globally relevant work they do. Partnering with REDARC is not by coincidence. They are the world’s best at what they do and a shiny example what Australian manufacturers can achieve if they focus on competing on value, not cost and solve problems for global customers – be it in the field of vehicle electronics or elsewhere.”

Owing to Jens’s role as the Managing Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC), the vehicle has also been equipped with Australian manufactured products that best showcase Australia’s manufacturing capabilities wherever possible.
