What is a REDARC Tow-Pro Elite and what does it do?
The Tow-Pro Elite is a device that controls the electric brake system on caravans, campers and trailers. When you want to tow a caravan, camper or trailer across any terrain, whether on road or off road, and have the ability to tailor your vehicle’s braking response to suit the conditions, Tow-Pro Elite is the answer.
Unique to the Tow-Pro Elite is the ability for the driver to select from two different modes of braking, User Controlled or Proportional mode, allowing the driver to manually choose the most appropriate mode of braking based on the road conditions, experience or preference.
Designed for versatility, the Tow-Pro Elite can be used on 12 volt or 24 volt vehicles and supports both electric and electric hydraulic trailer brakes. This makes it suitable for a wide range of towing applications, including caravans, camper trailers, horse floats and work trailers. For easier installation, it can also be paired with switch inserts and wiring kits to streamline the fitment process.
In Australia, trailers with a GTM of 750–2000kg must be fitted with brakes on at least one axle, while those exceeding 2000kg are legally required to have a braking system controllable by the driver. For other regions, we recommend checking your local regulations.
Caravan sway is one of the most common causes of caravan accidents, with drivers often losing total control of their rig. Thankfully, there are ways to avoid and diminish the effects of the dreaded caravan sway. Let’s dive into how to stop caravan sway to ensure your journey is smooth, safe and stress-free.
When campsites fill up, shared outlets can be overused and generators can leave you with angry neighbors. This is where having a dual battery system on-board becomes a game changer, allowing you to have a reliable, self-contained power system that doesn’t rely on powered campsites.
When it comes to choosing the right dual battery system, knowing which components to choose can be confusing. With chargers and monitoring and control systems, trying to figure out which parts are essential and which parts are nice to have can be tricky. While the REDWorks range of pre-wired dual battery system removes some confusion, there is still the question of ‘which panel is right for me?’ We’re here to simplify that choice and match you with the perfect panel.
The REDARC Brake-Safe Break-Away system for 2 or 4 wheel trailer brakes is designed to apply the brakes and brake lights on a trailer or caravan should it accidentally separate from the tow vehicle.
