HOW DOES THIS FAULT APPEAR?

The Tow-Pro remote head will display a blue light followed by a single flash of red.

WHAT DOES 'FLASHING BLUE AND ONE RED' MEAN?

This flash code indicates a fault where the Tow-Pro has detected an issue with the remote head cable.

WHAT CAUSES THIS FAULT?

To determine the cause of this fault, it will require diagnostic testing and REDARC recommends seeking the support of an installer where possible, however please see below a list of the common causes and repairs.

COMMON CAUSES OF 'FLASHING BLUE AND ONE RED' FAULT

The Tow-Pro remote head cable links the Tow-Pro remote head to the main unit, and any harm to this cable can lead to this issue.

  1. A physical fault in the cable might be spotted through a visual examination, but internal damage may remain concealed.
  2. If a visual inspection does not reveal any faults and tests confirm that causes 1 and 2 are not the problem, it's advisable to replace the remote head cable.

Tow-Pro V2 (EBRH-ACCV2): The remote head cable is a commercially available CAT5 or CAT6 RJ45 ethernet cable that can be purchased from various retailers.

Tow-Pro V3 (EBRH-ACCV3): The remote head cable is a specially designed cable; replacements can be purchased from the REDARC website or REDARC resellers.

HOW TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE REMOTE HEAD CABLE
  1. To replace the remote head cable, gain access to the rear of the remote head and Tow-Pro main unit commonly mounted under the dashboard.
  2. Both ends of the remote head cable have connectors with locking tabs that requires depressing the locking tab to remove.
  3. Once cable has been removed, install new replacement cable.
  4. Check to see if the fault is still present.
