How do I add extra solar to my Manager30 system and how much can I add?
The Manager30 (BMS1230S3) can fully utilise 520 watts of Solar.
There is no limit to how much solar can be connected to your Manager30, providing the Solar input is unregulated, 12 volts nominal (9-32 volts) and, when multiple panels are used, connected in parallel.
A larger solar system (above 520 watts) will allow for any inefficiencies with panel mounting characteristics e.g. angle to the sun, partial shading, etc.
When adding another panel, either to the roof space or as a portable external panel, the panels should ideally be the same type, Volts Open Circuit (VOC) and brand for best performance.
