A new firmware update (V1.1) is now available for the BCDC Alpha and BCDC Alpha R range of chargers.

Key Improvements:
- Better Sharing Between Alternator and Solar
- More efficient charging when using vehicle alternator and solar input at the same time.
- Stronger Solar Performance at Higher Panel Voltages (up to 48Voc)
- If you’re running panels in the 32–48Voc range, you should see more consistent and effective solar charging.
- Improved Solar Charging in Dappled Shade
- More stable solar performance when light levels are changing, such as driving through trees or built‑up areas.
- Improved Charging When an Inverter is Running
- More reliable charging even when an inverter is in use and drawing power from the battery.
- Clearer “Output Battery Disconnected” Detection
- Enhanced fault detection to help protect both the charger and your system from unsafe operating conditions.
- Improved Detection of Poor or Faulty Cabling
- Better recognition of wiring issues such as high resistance, poor connections, or undersized cables.
- Added Recovery Time After Chargeback to Vehicle Battery
- A short pause before resuming normal charging allows the vehicle’s start battery to recover after chargeback.
How to Update:
To update your BCDC Alpha or BCDC Alpha R to firmware V1.1:
- Connect to the RedVision app on your mobile device via Bluetooth.
- Follow the prompts in the app to update the firmware.
