James Albrechtsen wins 2017 Young Achiever Award at Defence Teaming Centre Awards night

Team Leader of REDARC’s Mechanical Design Team James Albrechtsen was awarded the Young Achiever Award at the Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) Awards held on the 21st of September 2017.

 

The award recognises an outstanding young person who is motivated, ambitious and has excelled in building their career in the defence industry.

 

The Defence Teaming Centre is a nationally-focused member organisation enabling and supporting Australian industry to develop capabilities that increase the overall competitiveness in domestic and global defence markets.

 

The DTC has a membership of over 250 businesses including prime defence contractors, small-to-medium enterprises, professional service providers and academic institutions that are involved in supplying and supporting defence capability.

 

James was recently promoted to his position of Team Leader of REDARC’s Mechanical Engineering Team having previously held the position of Mechanical Engineer since 2015. His role focuses on ensuring the Electronics and Research and Development departments are well supported with sound mechanical solutions.

 

James’ strong work ethic and engineering capabilities is reflected in several awards and honours throughout his studies and career at REDARC.

 

Speaking of James and his achievement, David Murfett, Engineering Manager and Defence Liaison said, “James is an outstanding young engineer and young achiever, we are really proud to have somebody of his calibre working for REDARC. This award reflects his hard-work, mentality towards continual improvements and outstanding achievements in the workplace”.

 

REDARC were also finalists in the Outstanding Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) Award, which recognises an SME that has excelled in their engagement with the defence industry and has successfully adapted to build their capabilities within the defence industry.

 

REDARC have had a successful year within the Australian Defence Industry, having been named as a teaming partner for both Rheinmetall and BAE Systems Australia who are tendering for the LAND 400 Phase 2 contract.
