REDARC’s William Farina was awarded the Best Student/Apprentice Award at the Electronics Industry Excellence Awards which formed part of the World Electronics Forum.
The event which was held on Thursday the 5th of December recognises individuals who have demonstrated achievement in a project or process development.
His nomination was based on the exceptional work he did as the lead man for electronics and electrical in the recent Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. William was tasked with designing the battery and battery management system of the TAFE SA solar car. This was the 4th year that William has worked with the TAFE SA solar car team.
William who has been working at REDARC as an Electronic Assembler since February is halfway through his Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering through TAFE SA. During his time at REDARC, he has demonstrated a passion for electronics and problem solving and has become an integral part of REDARC’s OEM & Safety production team.
Speaking of William and his achievement, David Murfett, Engineering Manager and Defence Liaison said, “William is an outstanding employee who thoroughly deserves this recognition, we are proud to have somebody of his calibre working for REDARC. The Electronics Industry Excellence Awards formed part of the 2019 World Electronics Forum which was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from the 4th – 6th of December.
The awards focus on recognising individuals, teams and organisations that are doing ground-breaking work in electronics. Managing the awards were the Electronics Industry Development group who were tasked with appointing the judges of the award.
The purpose of the World Electronics Forum is to bring Adelaide-based electronic companies together with investors and CEO’s from the world’s largest companies to enhance collaboration and investment opportunities.
