At REDARC, no two stories are the same. Working here means being part of something much bigger than just electronics—it’s about carving out your own path while being supported by a team that’s winning together. For some, it’s an adventure in product development; for others, it’s about growing their career in unexpected ways, all while contributing to a company that’s shaping the future of off-grid power management.
When REDARC was purchased by the Kittel’s in 1997 with just 8 employees in a tin shed in Lonsdale, South Australia, it was a humble beginning for Michele and Anthony. Today, REDARC is a global leader with over 390 employees across Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North America. As the company has grown, so have the opportunities for its people. Working here is exciting and fulfilling because it’s not just about what you contribute—it’s about how you grow while doing it.
One of the most unique aspects of working at REDARC is that the experience is different for everyone. Whether you’re in engineering, sales, or product assembly, you’re encouraged to think creatively and push boundaries. The company gives you room to explore, but you’re never alone. The culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust means you’re always working alongside people who support your growth and challenge you to think bigger.
Nusrat, a Production Support Graduate Engineer, was drawn to REDARC’s reputation for high-quality products. What she found, was a workplace that offers much more. "What really excites me is how REDARC gives graduates like me access to incredible resources, like the EMC lab, and opportunities to dive straight into real-life projects," Nusrat says. "It’s rare to find a company that trusts graduate engineers to work on major projects, but REDARC gives us the freedom to be creative and tackle challenges in our own way." The hands-on experience, coupled with a wide range of training programs, has helped Nusrat grow not just technically, but also in confidence. She feels empowered to find her own unique solutions and appreciates the trust placed in her.
From Grad to Manager, Brendan's REDARC journey has been that of discovery. Starting as an apprentice technician in 2008, he earned his Advanced Diploma in Electronics while working full-time, eventually pursuing a double bachelor’s degree. Today, he’s the IT Applications Manager, with a wealth of experience gained from working across manufacturing, engineering, and IT. "The best feature of REDARC is definitely the people," Brendan reflects. "Everyone is approachable, no matter their level of seniority."
Sitansu’s journey at REDARC has been just as educational. He began as an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering, but his education didn’t stop there. REDARC supported him as he pursued a PhD, and over 7.5 years later, he’s evolved into the Biomedical Engineering Lead. "Teamwork has been one of the pinnacle points—being able to reach out to different teams across the organization to solve a problem and their proactiveness in helping out," Sitansu shares. "As a company, we represent about 30 cultures just in Adelaide! It’s amazing to interact with people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds." Sitansu also highlights REDARC’s innovative spirit, adding, "Innovation has been the second important aspect—being able to throw out-of-the-box ideas and getting the opportunity to experiment with them." His role now benefits from REDARC’s global reputation, opening doors to collaborations in the medical field based on the company’s history of success.
Ashleigh started her journey in the People & Culture team in Australia. When life took her to Canada, REDARC came with her. Now, she’s continuing to grow in the North American marketing team, blending her professional skills with new experiences in a different country. "The opportunity to stay with REDARC after moving to the other side of the world has been an awesome experience," Ashleigh says. "It’s allowed my career to grow while giving me personal development in new cultures. I’ve felt so supported throughout my career at REDARC, with people who trust in my abilities to continue to learn."
Nyree, the WHS Manager, emphasizes how working for a global company opens doors to new opportunities. "We have experts around the world, so change and growth are constant. It’s a huge knowledge pool that we can all tap into for the benefit of everyone," she says.
But it’s not just about career growth—it’s about the relationships formed along the way. Cameron, the Technical Sales & Support Manager for Defence and Space, initially joined REDARC because of the products, but the people are what keeps him here. “A lot of us share similar interests in camping and 4WDing, and we even go away together on weekends. It’s a good sign when you spend your weekend with your co-workers—it means it’s a great environment.”
These are just a few stories of how working at REDARC can shape and enrich your career and life. There are thousands more from employees past and present, each with their own unique experiences. At REDARC, being part of a community that celebrates individual journeys while achieving collective success is at the heart of everything we do. With open communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to growth, REDARC continues to set the standard for innovation, excellence, and a workplace where everyone can thrive.
