REDARC is proud to be named a 2018 Global Media Award Winner for their range of high-powered DC-DC Battery Chargers, the BCDC1225D and BCDC1240D in the Van/ Pickup/ Sport-Utility Product Category of this year’s SEMA show. This is REDARC’s second appearance at the world’s most premier automotive speciality products trade event, and second time named as a Global Media Award Winner.
An esteemed panel of international judges, saw two judges select the In-vehicle Battery Charger range from nearly 3,000 new products that were featured at this year’s SEMA Show. The award recognises products that have international consumer appeal and is based on products that are most likely to succeed commercially in their respective countries.
“We are delighted to be named a Global Media Award Winner once again, and despite high-powered dc-dc battery charging being a new concept, it demonstrates that there is the market appeal for our products to succeed in North America,”, said Export Manager Craig Herriot.
The In-vehicle Battery Chargers in 25 and 40 amp outputs will charge a secondary battery bank using solar and DC inputs simultaneously. It uses a feature called ‘Green Power Priority’ which means it will draw power from any available solar source before ‘topping up’ the secondary battery from the alternator. This reduces vehicle emissions and places less stress on the engine. The range is also compatible with 12 and 24 Volt vehicle systems, variable voltage (smart) alternators and charges all battery chemistries, including a Lithium Charging Profile (LiFePO4).
Craig Herriot says that REDARC’s knowledge of tough and rugged conditions is engineered into every unit with the BCDC range proving it can handle the roughest tracks on the Rubicon or Trans America Trails to the deep-water crossings of Colorado.
“All our DC-DC battery chargers have been designed and tested to charge secondary batteries to a proven 100%,” said Craig. “This is why our dual battery charger range has been so successful in Australia, even receiving awards back home.”
In October, REDARC launched its new website for the North American market. Craig said it comes after REDARC’s plans of continued growth on a global scale, with North America to be a key market segment in the coming years.
Last year, REDARC was named a 2017 Global Media Award Winner for the Tow-Pro Elite Electric Brake Controller. Tow-Pro Elite is the only brake controller to offer two types of braking in the one unit; ‘Proportional mode’ which actively calibrates, requiring no user input or levelling and ‘User-Controlled Mode’ designed for the greatest level of control when driving off-road.
REDARC Electronics has nearly 40 years’ experience in the research, design, development and manufacture of a range of electronic voltage converters and associated products including power supplies, DC to DC battery chargers, electric brake controllers, and voltage monitoring gauges.
REDARC are at booth 33281 for the duration of SEMA in the Upper South Hall.
