Advanced manufacturer, REDARC Electronics is pleased to be exhibiting once again at the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) Convention and Trade Show in Fort Worth, Texas from the 21st to the 23rd of February. REDARC will be in booth no. 330.
The 2018 NATM Show, will be celebrating 30 years since it’s formation in 1987 and recognises its commitment of advocacy, education and growth for trailer manufacturers in North America. Now with 888 members, the primary mission of NATM is to promote trailer safety and this is accomplished through the mandatory NATM Compliance Verification Program, member education and advocacy on behalf of the industry.
NATM services the USA, Canada and Mexico and incorporates over 400 trailer manufacturers and 350 supplier companies who together employ more than 280,000 workers. The trailers fabricated by these companies transport a diverse range of items such as boats, livestock, ATVs, snowmobiles to more complex items such as traffic control systems and law enforcement command centres.
The NATM Show is the only annual event in North America where only suppliers exhibit their products and services to light and medium-duty trailer manufacturers, and in 2017 saw record attendance numbers and sponsorship.
Export Manager, Craig Herriot states REDARC’s attendance of last year’s NATM show resulted in very promising leads for the business, and now that there is more familiarity trailer manufacturers will hopefully see the benefit REDARC can provide.
“REDARC has been around for over 40 years proving trailer accessories, like our award-winning Tow-Pro Electric Trailer Brake Controller and high powered DC-DC and solar battery chargers.
“The Tow-Pro Elite Electric Trailer Brake Controller was a big drawcard at the NATM Show last year, with many manufacturers' impressed for it’s in-dash mounted remote head and two types of braking modes”, he stated.
Simple to install and operate, the main unit can be installed behind the vehicle’s dash, with only the remote head being accessible for the driver. This stops the driver from knocking their knees on a brake controller installed in their leg space or potential interference with lower airbags in new vehicles.
The Tow-Pro Elite Electric Trailer Brake Controller offers two types of braking in the one unit; ‘Proportional mode’ which actively calibrates, requiring no user input or levelling and ‘User-Controlled Mode’ designed for the greatest level of control when driving off-road. It’s the only brake controller on the market with two different braking modes.
Also, on display will be REDARC’s DC-DC battery chargers in 25 and 40 amp models, which recently made REDARC named a 2018 Global Media Award Winner at the 2017 SEMA show.
“Charging from AC mains is one way to charge larger batteries, but we frequently find that many trailer users want autonomy and that’s not possible when you need to be connected to AC mains power to get your trailer battery charged.
“The benefit of having one of these battery chargers in a trailer is that it provides users with the confidence to go ‘off-grid’ for longer as they have been designed to boost voltage to overcome voltage drop and apply the right charging algorithm to the battery chemistry being charged. All of our battery chargers have been designed and tested to charge secondary batteries to a proven 100%”, states Craig.
The DC-DC battery chargers also have solar input built in, which allows for simultaneous charging and allows the battery charger to draw as much power much power from solar when installed before ‘topping up’ the secondary battery from the start battery’s power.
Other products on display will be REDARC’s range of Dual Battery Isolators, DC Power Supplies, Charger Equalizers and Monitoring Gauges.
