REDARC's fixed solar panels are high-quality, monocrystalline solar panels designed to capture solar energy and keep your batteries charged throughout the day. They are also designed with the rugged terrain in mind and are able to withstand any harsh conditions and extreme weather; not to mention, they’re a fantastic alternative or addition to our portable solar panels. The double channel aluminium frame creates a strong setting for the panels, and the tempered glass coating provides extra protection from the elements.
Suitable for more permanent installations and perfect for the seasoned adventurer, fixed solar panels are typically found on the roof of 4WDs, motorhomes as well as camper trailers and caravans. REDARC’s fixed panels are both smaller and up to 21% lighter than their previous generation due to improved cell efficiency.
Available in a range of sizes and capacities, they’re designed to maximise the roof space available on any given vehicle.
To accompany your solar solutions, we also have a wide selection of portable panels, folding solar blankets, solar regulators and solar accessories. Planning an extended trip? Harness the power of the sun on your next trip with REDARC's fixed solar panels.
WHAT IS THE BEST SOLAR PANEL FOR A CARAVAN?
Fixed solar panels are ideal for caravans. Available in a range of sizes and capacities, from 50W to 200W, one or more panels can easily be fixed to the roof of a caravan.
WILL A SOLAR PANEL KEEP A CARAVAN BATTERY CHARGED?
Yes, absolutely. Attaching one or more solar panels to your caravan is a great way to keep your battery charged without having to connect to a fixed power source. This is ideal if you plan to go off-grid and want more flexibility.
IS IT WORTH FITTING A SOLAR PANEL TO A CARVAN?
Absolutely. If you’re a frequent adventurer in your caravan, fixing a solar panel to the roof will enable you to have power wherever you go. Unlike generators, they don't need fuel or oil, and all you have to do is fix the panels where they can get plenty of sunlight. In a country like Australia, they’re a no-brainer!
IS A SOLAR BLANKET AS GOOD AS A FIXED SOLAR PANEL?
The greatest advantage of solar blankets is that they’re lightweight. They produce more or less the same amount of electricity as folding solar panels, but are light enough to carry in a bag. The main downside is that they often cost more.
WHICH TYPE OF SOLAR PANEL IS THE MOST EFFICIENT?
Monocrystalline panels are considered the best in terms of efficiency and power output. They are made from single-crystal silicon, which allows them to convert sunlight into electricity more efficiently, resulting in a higher power output for the same surface area. As a result, they need less space to produce the same amount of electricity. Monocrystalline panels also tend to be more durable and have a longer lifespan than some other types.
