REDARC sponsors participants of 2017 Beat Cancer Tour
REDARC are pleased to announce their sponsorship of Kim Scott and Donald McGurk who are participating in the 2017 Beat Cancer Tour, an initiative from the Cancer Council’s Beat Cancer Project.
The Beat Cancer Tour is a charity bike run in conjunction with the 2017 Santos Tour Down Under; it takes place from the 14th to the 22nd of January. It offers its participants the chance to ride every stage of the Tour, just hours before the pros and is a fantastic opportunity for a select group of riders to take part in the biggest professional cycling race in the southern hemisphere.
The race is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and is a unique opportunity to help save lives by raising money for vital cancer research through Cancer Council’s Beat Cancer Project. Every five minutes, one Australian is diagnosed with cancer, changing their lives and the lives of their friends and families forever. One in two males and one in three females will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. The statistics are very sobering and also quite frightening.
Managing Director of REDARC Anthony Kittel said, “The importance of advancing cancer research cannot be overstated. REDARC is honoured to be able to support David and Kim as they raise awareness through one of the great international cycling events and contribute to life-saving research.”
Kim and Donald are aiming to raise over $30,000 between them and with federal and state fund matching, this figure becomes $120,000 that will be donated to vital cancer research in South Australia. Kim Scott said, “the Beat Cancer Tour is a once in a lifetime experience that gives everyday people the opportunity to live and breathe the life of a professional cyclist while at the same time supporting such an essential cause.”
A van or camper provides the ultimate freedom — a home on wheels that opens up the country for you to explore. However, power from a dual battery system or your car battery uses DC power, which requires DC-power-specific appliances to be useful.

Whether you’ve fully embraced van life or you’re just hitting the road for weekend escapes, knowing how to stay cool is key to making the most out of your camping experience. Fortunately, we have a few proven strategies to beat the heat. Let’s dive into our top 10 tips on how to keep your van life cool, no matter how high the temperature climbs.

Caravanning off the grid is one of the best ways to enjoy Australia’s stunning natural beauty. When you aren’t tied to powered sites, you can explore remote locations and enjoy the freedom of self-sufficiency. However, staying off the grid means you’ll need to plan how to power your caravan.
