Anyone who’s spent more than a bit of time off-grid knows that to live comfortably you need power, and a great way to get endless power while living and working remotely is through solar. With so many people looking to get out and explore the country, overlanding and boondocking is becoming increasingly common. It’s easy to see why; secluded campsites in the middle of nowhere, no phone reception, no one else around for miles and it doesn’t cost you anything. If you’re looking to get into boondocking, one of the most common upgrades people do is going from a single battery to a dual battery system.
When charging an auxiliary battery, our BCDC In-Vehicle Chargers deliver charging currents in excess of 25Amps for sustained periods of time. Within this charging circuit, the charger, fuse/holders, and associated connections are going to be stressed and, if not adequately cabled and connected, could lead to an excessive increase in circuit resistance, temperatures and reduced performance.
Built tough and ready to push the limits, REDARC’s latest off grid build is nothing short of the ultimate adventure vehicle. Harnessing over 40 years of expert knowledge of powering rigs and building off-grid tourers in Australia, we couldn’t wait to get our hands dirty on a truck build unlike any other.
